Nadoes Cricket vs Primrose Day 1

The Nadoes got their 2day match against Primrose underway on Saturday. The side looked very different from normal, with many of the players out of action due to the fact that they are sunning themselves on the shores of Thailand!!
Ruth lost the toss and Primrose put the NCC in to bat. Things strated nicely for the home side taking a few early wickets. But the concentration was lacking a little and this allowed Primrose to get away at times. The NCC fought back and managed to wrap the visitors up for 203 in 65 overs. The main destroyers were Ruth Morris and Jared De Villiers taking 4 wickets a piece.

Then it came to the Batting and the NCC were rocked by some pretty ordinary shot selections early up. This included The Great Dayne's shocking run of form continuing when he tried to pull his 3rd ball off the opening bowler and was unceremoniously caught for 1. Murray King failed to trouble the scorers and Sibu Ntini managed just 2. This left the NCC reeling at 5/3.

It was then that The Guru and Milo Abrahams steadied the ship somewhat, putting on 60 for the 4th wicket. The Guru was then bowled by a straight ball and things looked ominoues. Milo carried on the good work smashing 4's and 6's at will and passed his half century with little effort. He was assisted by Toffee Eli who smashed a quick 25. Then the disasterous running hit which saw 2 runout in as many overs.

With the end of the day approaching, the Ruth and Fetti hung on so that the nadoes were 155/7 at the close of play. Things are well set for the next week so it should be good. All are welcome as usual, and the fines this week should be quite hectic so I encourage all to pull through!!
